Opening of the Trails of the Past exhibit
The Trails of the Past exhibit explores the evolution of the forest understory along the hiking trails of the Gault Nature Reserve, highlighting the changes caused by the passage of time and the ecological impact of white-tailed deer.
Join us for an opening evening combining science, nature, and art. The program includes:
- A talk by Catherine Potvin, Professor Emerita at McGill University, on forest changes in response to white-tailed deer overpopulation.
- The unveiling of the winning photos from the Trails of the Past photo contest.

About the Speaker
Catherine Potvin is Professor Emerita in the Department of Biology at McGill University. An expert in tropical forest ecology and conservation, she works at the intersection of science, community engagement, and climate policy. More recently, she has focused on the growing impacts of white-tailed deer overpopulation on the forests of Mont Saint-Hilaire.
