About us

Gault Nature Reserve is a property of McGill University since 1958. Designated as a private land reserve and a migratory bird sanctuary, Gault Nature Reserve protects over 1,000 hectares of natural habitats.

Located in Mont-Saint-Hilaire, roughly 40 km from Montreal, its panoramic landscapes unveil the most extensive remnant of ancestral forest of the Saint-Laurent River valley. The Reserve is open 365 days a year and offers 25 km of hiking trails.
